Truecaller buys Chillr, looks to expand digital payments services

Stockholm-based Truecaller, owned by True Software Scandinavia AB, on Wednesday acquired Mumbai-based mobile payments start-up Chillr (Backwater Technologies Pvt Ltd) for an undisclosed amount.

This is Truecaller’s first ever acquisition in the India market, according to a company statement. Both companies are backed by common investor Sequoia Capital.

Mumbai Angels Network invest in Hyderabad-based healthcare startup

The Mumbai Angels Network has announced an investment in Hyderabad-based medical diagnostic startup Theranosis Life Sciences.

Founded in 2016 by Dr. Shibichakravarthy Kannan and Dr. Vennila Dharman, Theranosis Life Sciences aims to explore non-invasive diagnostics for cancer patients and has patented a device that can reduce the need for surgical biopsies.

Network Intelligence offers assessment, advisory, remediation, training, and managed services to its clients.
