The famous payment’s platform PhonePe is planning to do a WeChat an super application which will allow the users to avail the various services like flight bookings, hotel booking, food ordering and cab-hailing,within an application without the need to go for some other platforms.
From the next two months, the platform of PhonePe will be having more than 30 major digital merchants to map their in-app experience on that. Companies like Ola and Goibibo are already live on the Bangalore-based company platform.
While Phone-Pe’s immediate focus is to on-board platforms with high daily use, it also plans to open brand stores in its super app for traditional businesses.
In China, the Tencent-owned and the Alibaba’s Alipay have a whole slew of services within them. PhonePe’s rival Paytm has built additional services on its own, instead of partnering with existing players.
The other Indian startups have even made attempts on building similar capabilities but without much success. If and when the PhonePe project scales, it will consider bringing a loyalty programme to try and get users to keep transacting within its ecosystem.
To put the same perspective on various applications,the consumers have sent more than $2.9 trillion inside the Alipay and the WeChat in the year 2016 says the reports.
