Paytm Launches Tap Card To Allow Offline Payments

Paytm has launched a new payment mode, Tap Card, which it claims to be India’s first “truly offline payments solution.” It is a card that uses NFC to transfer money on company-authorised Point of Sale (PoS) terminals and is aimed at non-Internet users.

The Paytm Tap Card enables safe and convenient digital payments with the help of NFC, completely offline at Paytm-issued PoS terminals in under a second, the company says. To make payments, users can add money from their Paytm account by scanning the QR code on the Tap Card and by authenticating it at any of the add value machines (AVM). It also addresses any network-related concerns at the consumers’ or merchants’ end.


Private jets marketplace JetSetGo acquires Indo Pacific Aviation

JetSetGo, an online marketplace for private jets, has acquired Indo Pacific Aviation Limited, India’s oldest non-scheduled aircraft operator (NSOP) for an amount that has not been disclosed.

The acquisition will allow JetSetGo to directly manage its own fleet and provide on-demand air connectivity, a company statement said.

Indo Pacific Aviation Limited (IPAL) which was established in 1994 by Karan Singh, provides aircraft management and maintenance solutions to corporate aviation in India.

Founded in 2014 by Tekriwal and Sudheer Perla, JetSetGo works with almost all non-scheduled aircraft operators in the country in improving utilisation and driving operational and cost synergies. The company aggregates private jets, helicopters, and air ambulances, and claims to have executed 2,800 aircraft movements in the last financial year alone.


EdMobile Labs raises money from Unitus Seed Fund, others

EdMobile Labs Pvt. Ltd, a Pune-based mobile learning startup raised Rs5.5 crore from impact investor Unitus Seed Fund and some angel investors.

The funds will be used to expand its flagship project Utter App. Formerly called Sling App, Utter is a chatbot-style mobile learning app aimed at imparting English and on-the-job productivity skills to an increasing digital blue-collar workforce.

Several industries including e-commerce, logistics, cabs and food services today employ thousands of entry-level staff to carry out operations using smartphones. Utter App can be a tool for businesses to deliver training, in an easy-to-consume conversational format, to such employees over the smartphone.


Technology startup Get My Parking acquires Constapark

Cloud-based mobile parking technology startup Get My Parking has acquired Bangalore-based parking subscription firm Constapark, as per a company statement.

Post the acquisition, the founders and team of Constapark will join the office of Get My Parking.

The acquisition comes after Get My Parking raised $3 million in a Series A round from its existing investors Indian Angel Fund, which invested from its eponymous IAN Fund, venture firm Beenext and others in September 2017.
