With $10 Mn funding, Headout looks to expand local experiences to 100 cities by 2019

Headout, a US and India-based spontaneous experiences provider has raised $10 Mn in a Series A funding round from Nexus Venture Partners.

Varun Khona, co-founder, and CEO, Headout, reportedly said that the funds will be used for launching services in 100 cities by 2019, expanding the team worldwide and investing in technology to further enable seamless last-minute mobile reservations for local experiences.

Founded in 2014 by Suren Sultania, Varun Khona, and Vikram Jit Singh, Headout is a managed marketplace helping travellers and locals access curated, high-quality local experiences available at the last-minute.

Incubate Fund leads pre-series A funding in Chennai’s e-procurement startup Kobster

Chennai-based B2B e-procurement platform Kobster has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in a Pre-Series A round led by Incubate Fund.

Apart from Incubate Fund, Chandigarh Angel Network, ANME (Angel Network Middle East), and LetsVenture also participated in this funding round.

Kobster was founded by Karthik Ramaiah, Mohan Gayam, and Vineet Neeraj and was also incubated under PayPal’s Start Tank Programme. It is a full-stack company and focuses on end-to-end solutions, including last-mile fulfillment. Kobster also claims to be operationally profitable.
