Truecaller Reached 100 Million Indian Active Users, Plans To Launch Credit Business

Alan Mamedi, CEO, Truecaller, rejoiced in Twitter 100 million active users in India. This is a huge achievement for the company as it has 130 Million users worldwide. It also has 500,000 users subscribed to the premium package.

The company emphasized its success based on the brilliant platform it offers for SMS, calling, flash messages, instant messaging, video calling, payments, etc. It is eyeing for a better future as the Indian users are increasingly relying on this platform for the aforementioned services.

The company stated that every one in ten active users in India linked his bank accounts to Truecaller Pay. In fact, 60% of all these users enjoying the payment portal are willing to come on board after the introduction of UPI service.

Alan said, “India is one of our focus markets and we are very pleased to have hit this landmark. We feel extremely privileged to know that there are 100 million people in India who trust our brand and use our services daily.”

Truecaller Pay was launched in March 2017 along with ICICI Bank following a partnership model. The company acquired Chillr, a Mumbai-based online instant payment platform, in June 2018.

Truecaller 100 million Indian users

The acquisition was the first step of its bigger dreams to enter the competitive market of online payment industry with a stronghold. Truecaller is reportedly planning to introduce its credit business by the 1st quarter of 2019.

Over the past two years, Truecaller has channelized heavy investments in the Indian market. In fact, 50% of its professional team comprises of Indians. It operates physically in Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bangalore. The company also cited that it is currently hosting Indian users’ accounts locally.
