Accept that things cannot be changed.

The first thing you should do is to accept the fact that you cannot change certain things. The past is done and over. You cannot mend it as it is past. You build up stress by overthinking about the things you are not capable of changing. You need to be able to influence your future and understand there may be situations or people that we cannot make a difference to. Focus on the things that are in your control. Let go of the things holding you back.
