What Are the Signs That You May Not Be Cut Out For The 9 To 5 Life

We are all raised to get a desk job where we get benefits and security. However, for some of us, this lifestyle doesn’t work out to fulfill their career. Is it same for you?

Here are the signs that you may not be cut out for the traditional 9 to 5 life.

You feel like caged animal when in the office

You may not resent anyone at your office. But the cubicles, endless desks, and doors makes you want to jump out of the window to get some fresh air and space. If you still don’t mind the work but hate sitting in one place staring at your computer then you can request to telecommute a couple of times in a week.

If it is necessary for you to sit on your desk then find out some ways to at least get out once or twice in a day. Break the monotony of the day to not feel caged.

You hate regimented work hours or life.

A strict organized routine may really suffocate you. A flexible work hour or shift working might help you. You might have to convince your boss how you can achieve more with a different schedule than the one you are working in.

Spreadsheets are driving you crazy.

You may love a particular role such as sales job but you might dread the thought of working on a spreadsheet. Paperwork is inevitable so you can try and delegate the work to someone, get it outsourced or find support for the tasks you don’t want to do.

You don’t like being told what to do.

Perhaps you feel raged when you are asked to attend meetings you don’t wish to go or take on the project you feel isn’t a priority, it may be a clear sign that you should be your own boss. This may sound reckless however if you hate working for someone else’s goals and dreams then maybe you should become the one who wants to work for his own goals.

Be strategic about how you feel, you don’t have to stick around for years in a job life that you are not meant for. Find brave ways to redefine the role you currently have or build your own.
