Every gaming enthusiast is aware of the term PUBG. It is the short form of Player Unknown’s BattleGrounds. This ragingly popular mobile gaming platform offers gaming aficionados to play for free and battle with other players to win.
Most of the players are of younger age. On a recent note, PUBG has been subjected to core criticism from the families of the players. They accused the gaming platform of promoting violence and distracting younger minds from studying. The accusation is leading towards the ban of this open-source online gaming platform.
PUBG India responded to this criticism and has shown keen interest to work for the best interest of the Indian public. It has promised to cater to a healthy experience for the Indian aficionados.
PUBG Mobile representative said, “We appreciate the support and trust given to us by our PUBG MOBILE players. While we strive to deliver the best possible gaming experience to our fans, we also believe that it is extremely important for us to be a responsible member of the gaming ecosystem. To this end, we constantly work and shall continue to work with different stakeholders, including parents, educators and government bodies, and listening to their feedback on what we can do to enhance the overall PUBG MOBILE experience.”
The representative also added “To foster a healthy and balanced in-game environment, we are developing numerous new features and enhancements which enables us to provide an environment for players to enjoy PUBG MOBILE in a rewarding and responsible manner. We are honored to have a passionate community of PUBG MOBILE players in India and globally and continue to welcome their feedback to make PUBG MOBILE the best game ever!”
Reviving The Indian Gaming Industry
As per the report from KPMG, PUBG India alone revived the Indian gaming industry. The same report also suggests that the Indian gaming industry will worth INR 11,880 Crore within 2023.
A related report from Kantar IMRB and the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) depicts that this industry will touch $943 Million by the end of 2022. This report is backed by POKKT, a mobile gaming advertising platform for smartphones.
The gaming platforms such as Fortnite and PUBG will remain in the scene. The raging popularity of mobile gaming among the millennials will boost the sale of smart devices with better processing.
Cons of PUBG
PUBG is no different from that of other games in terms of criticism. The degree of gaming addiction has reached a new level. WHO described ‘gaming addiction’ as a persistent behavior that recurs and insists a person avoid other interests and hobbies.
A man attacked his fiancé’s brother as he drained his mobile playing PUBG and he was unable to find his charger. On the other hand, an 18-years old Mumbai boy committed suicide when his parents denied to buy him a new mobile for playing PUBG.
