Tired of working under someone else? Become your own boss. Start-up culture is rapidly growing in India. There are some which turn out to be successful but research says 80% of the start-ups fail in the first three years. If you are a fresher and thinking about being your own boss rather than working for someone, here are certain points that you must keep in mind. Do not come up with a wrong product or service – Before starting your start-up, think about your customers and what is it that you can do to make their life simple. Build the right team.

Meet the marketing needs – A start-up named Patient Communicator said, “I realized, essentially, that we had no customers because no one was really interested in the model we were pitching. Do not ignore your competition; 19 percent of the start-ups fail because they ignore their competitors and focus only on their own product”.
Have a business plan Allocate your resources and money well. Follow these tips if you want to make it big in the market tomorrow.

1. When you’re self-employed/your own BOSS, you no longer have a “higher-up” governing your every move. You control how your work is done. Your client has a say in the final product, but that’s it — their power ends there.

2. On average, freelancers earn 45% more than those who are traditionally employed.
3. How you get from point A to point B is completely up to you and that is awesome.
4. You enjoy variety: When you were an employee — whether you were crumbling away in a cubicle, restlessly working retail, or dying at the drive-thru — you were handed a manual or given some hasty instructions by your boss and then…that was it.
5. You knew what you needed to know to perform your job, and there was never any reason to grow beyond that. Because your job never, ever changed. As a freelancer/Self-employed, your job is changing constantly. You’re expected to continually adapt, learn, and update your skills. With every new client comes a new challenge.
6. When you’re self-employed, you’re forced to think — to be creative — It’s a great feeling to know that your skills are being put to good use and that those skills are going to continue to grow as your business grows.
7. Your work area is truly yours, You’re more valued. You’re a highly-valued individual.
8. More importantly, you get to decide what that value is. You get credit for your own work.

9. And, through your ongoing marketing efforts, you’ve even started to earn some name recognition, not just among your long-time clients, but from complete strangers as well.
10. You set your own schedule.
11. You choose your own customers. If a client yells at you now, it’s because you chose the wrong client. You’re the one in control now, not them.
12. You choose who you provide services to.
Truth is: self-employment is a fantastic lifestyle choice. Your earning potential is virtually unlimited and you have the option of working at your own pace.
Success differs from person to person. First try to find how you can be happy and then the thing which makes you happy will make you the boss of every single person around you.
