Motorola has decisively launched new Moto Mods in India after a long meagre time.

The three Mods in enigma are the JBL SoundBoost 2 speaker Mod, Moto GamePad Mod and Moto TurboPower Pack battery Mod. All Mods are hatched to go on sale from Flipkart and Motorola’s sole offline retail stores Moto Hubs from December 17 onward.

Along with the new Mods, Motorola has also declared a service that will allow Moto Z users to borrow the Moto Mods for a week for just Rs 399 each.

Moto’s Z series of phones is a new haul on modular smartphones. The functionality of the Moto Z2 Play – Motorola’s current flagship in India – can be extended via Moto Mods which just clasp onto the rear of the smartphone.

Currently, Motorola auctions Mods which can convert the Z2 Play into a boombox, a camera with 10x optical zoom and even a movie projector.

The JBL SoundBoost 2 is an augmented version of the SoundBoost Mod which was launched with the original Moto Z family. It has 10 hours of battery life (with fast charging assistance), is splash resistant thanks to a water-resistant film and emphasizes a sleeker design with a material carpeting. It is available in three hues- red, blue and black and sells for Rs 6,999. The SoundBoost 2 also befalls with an app called My JBL SoundBoost 2 that concedes sound to be controlled granularly.

The GamePad Mod lets you control games the old fashioned way thanks to its four action switches, dual control sticks and D-pad. Just like the SoundBoost 2, it has its individual power source (a 1,035mAh battery). It will set you to quarterback Rs 6,999.

The Moto Turbo PowerPack Mod retails for 5,999 and guarantees an extra day of battery life. It happens with fast charging support – Motorola claims a 50% charge in just 20 minutes. Along with the three new Moto Mods, Motorola has also proclaimed a partnership with RentoMojo which supports buyers to rent these Moto Mods for a week at a price of Rs 399. This service will be possible across the prime 8 metros.
