Alibaba Cloud Is Opening Its Second Data Centre in India

The cloud computing arm of the Alibaba Group, Alibaba Cloud has recently launched its second data centre in our country with the new ‘availability zone’ in Mumbai the same was declared bythe company on Friday.

This comes as the company has backed the push towards its data localisation in India and is also competing with the Amazon Web Services and Microsoft in the space in the country.

The first centre of Alibaba was launched in India in the month of January this year. Alibaba said an availability zone is a physical area with independent power grids, and each one is made up of one or more data centres.

The new zone will be offering the product lines like the elastic computing, database, network application services, storage, and big data analytics for supporting the various requirements of the local governments and the enterprise.

It said the dual availability zones will further enhance the level of security of Alibaba Cloud’s data centers in India.

The main focus of Alibaba in this cloud business is to meet the various demands for the cloud computing services among all the growing small and medium size businesses.
