After 71 years of Independence, what we need to change?

India is the second largest country in the world in terms of population.  After 71 years of independence, our country is struggling to achieve pace on the path of development.  Even now we are called as a developing nation. And this statement is absolutely true. Our country India is still in a developing stage and not yet developed. There may are many reasons for this and not one. According to a saying, “If a country is highly populated, then it is sure that the development of the country would be slow.” This can be in terms of sharing the resources, vast population also gives birth to poverty, low standard of living, and other social and economical problems too.

The next reason that makes India still a developing country is Education.  India is still struggling with the problem of literacy in some areas specially in northern states.  It is one of the key factor in increasing the unemployment level in our country. When there is no education, people are jobless and this leads to poverty. Our country has political leaders, who are not educated. We should overcome this.  There is a quote said by our 1st PM Jawaharlal Nehru  “India is rich but Indians are poor”.  The reason behind this is, the resources available in the country are not shared properly.

The next key factor is Unity in Nation. There is a phrase in English, “United we stand but divided we fall”. We Indians have forgotten this phrase and we act accordingly.  This is the reason, why British ruled  India and Portuguese ruled Goa. It  is also true on the other hand, that later on the we Indians have sent them off  back. But we were under British for 200 years as slaves  . If we had unity then British would not have got chance to rule us. People think they, don’t have the necessity to interfere in the matter of the country and hence people go on trips and holidays during elections. Election day is celebrated as a holiday in India.

Also corruption is a very big issue in our country. We have ranked at the top in Corruptions.  It is a high time now. We should stop corruption. Everyone says this but still corruption is not yet stopped or not even decreased by 0.1% rather than it is increased by 10% I would say. If corruption decreases only then our country will move forward one step in terms of development. Even demonetization, couldn’t stop corruption.

Also next issue in our country is “Poor Hygiene and Sanitation”.  People in India are fond of eating tobacco and pan masala even though it is banned, and spitting here and there. Many people in rural areas, still go in open for defecation.  Public toilets, dustbins at public places are available at few places but not used.  Programs like “SwachhBharat ” are promoted, but should be followed everywhere. It is not that only when a political person is to visit any city or a village, only then the cleanliness is to be done.

Also there is poor law and order in India. This is also a big issue that makes India undeveloped.  India has great potential in terms of natural resources. We just have to take proper steps towards it. All we need is, each one of us has to perform their individual roles effectively with dedication and only then our nation will move a step ahead to become a developed nation. So let us do it.
