Our day doesn’t start off until we have drunk our morning cup of tea or coffee, to each her own. And does it not spoil our mood and eventually the day when our tea or coffee is not made in the manner we want it to be? I am guessing a number of our readers would relate to this. 

The Good Life Company has now a solution to that as they venture into luxury coffee brands along with tea, as reported by Economic Times.

It was founded by Bhuman Dani, an MBA from INSEAD and Shariq Ashraf, an MBA from Oxford University and who is also a self-proclaimed lover of tea.

Bollywood actor, Ayesha Takia Azmi, and restaurateur Farhan Azmi had also invested in this startup reinstating her commitment to health and wellness as a lifestyle shift.

A 15-month-old Indian startup, TGL Co. has expanded rapidly in the B2B segment with its teas now available at more than 160 hotels, restaurants and cafes across 9 cities including popular properties such as Taj Hotels, Hyatt Regency, Westin, SOFITEL and The Lalit besides multiple others. 


What are their latest plans?

The company has now forayed into the luxury coffee which is classified into four collections – International, Indian, Flavoured and Instant Coffee.

In Ashraf’s words, “We have been closely studying the consumer market in India and have realized that there is an evolving consumer preference for higher quality, fresher, premium coffees. This prompted us to conduct extensive R&D that resulted in us sourcing world-class coffees from the finest estates around the world.”

The startup, in a press release, has pointed out that the market for specialty coffee is increasing day by day in India. It is estimated that the coffee business would amount to 5000 crores, out of which specialty coffee would hold for 40% of the market.

Dani said that TGL Co. intends to create a 100-crore business in the luxury indulgences category. They are scheming to use their sales channels for their luxury tea to promote their coffee brand. They aim at creating awareness about high-quality brews in India.

The startup also has plans to launch its international website for teas and coffees and kickstart sales on Amazon Launchpad EU and UK thereafter.

They are currently available at Godrej Natures Basket stores across Mumbai and Bengaluru – Bandra, Powai, Oberoi Mall, Worli, Churchgate, Warden Road, Prabhadevi and yet to be launched Juhu store in Mumbai. TGL Co. is also available Gear School Road (GSR), Whitefield, Indira Nagar and Sadashivnagar in Bengaluru.
