Richest Self Made Female Billionaires in the World

According to a list from the ‘Hurun Global Rich List 2017 series’, there are 88 self-made billionaires in the world with a combined wealth of $194 billion. The Hurun Report found that a majority of self-made female billionaires come from China which is 56 whereas the U.S. is in the second place with 15.

Let’s just take a look at the top 9 self-made female billionaires in the world.

Peggy Cherng and husband Andrew Cherng ($4.4 billion)

Cherng and her husband launched Panda express in the U.S. which now one of the largest family-owned restaurant chains in the world.

Zhang Yin ($4.5 billion)

Beginning with building a scrap paper trading business in California she found her massive company Nine Dragons Paper in China.

Wu Yajun ($4.6 billion)

She started her career as a journalist in China but having found her real estate brand Longfor she turned incredibly wealthy.

Judy Love and husband Tom Love ($4.8 billion)

They co-founded the Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, a fuel station and service chain in 1964 and now has above 420 locations in 40 states in the U.S.

Chen Chunmei and husband Gong Hongjia ($5.3 billion)

Her wealth comes from one of the world’s largest supplier of video surveillance products Hikvision Digital Technology.

Tina Green and husband Philip Green ($5.5 billion)

From Britain, she is now based in Mexico with her husband running the retail giant Arcadia. All the family shares in Jersey registered Taveta Investments is owned by her which also owns Arcadia.

Zhou Hongwen and husband Xiao Jianhua ($5.5 billion)

She is the co-founder of the corporate consulting colossal Tomorrow Group.

Zhou Qunfei  ($6 billion)

When her Lens Technology group went public, she jumped to the top list in the year 2015. However, before setting up her own company she was born in poverty in rural China and used to work on a shop floor.

Chen Lihua  ($7.2 billion)

She grew up in poverty before becoming the world’s most successful businesswoman. She is married to a famous actor Chi Zhongrui and runs the investment company FuWah.
