Know How To Answer When You’re Asked What Makes You Better Than Other Candidates

Seeking a job in today’s world can be a difficult task. There are so many worthy candidates and so fewer jobs. Therefore, it becomes absolutely necessary to be the best candidate while applying for the job. But is that so simple? 

How can you make your employers understand that you are the best one they could hire?

At an interview, you’re trying to determine whether or not you want the job. Secondly, you’re trying to make sure that in case you still want the job when you leave the interview, the hiring manager knows you can perform the job.

Not only that, you want to leave your hiring manager excited about the prospect of getting you on his or her team.

That’s why it’s important to answer the question, “What makes you better than the other candidates?”. It is important to not answer that question by, “I’m smart and hard-working, and I volunteer for several local charities!” but rather by telling the hiring manager what you think he or she is looking for.

Doing so makes it crystal clear that you’ve been listening to the hiring manager as he or she speaks.  You’ve been thinking about the most likely challenges in the job. That’s the person they want to hire! 

You don’t want to get to the end of the interview and feel like you haven’t sold yourself well, or missed any opportunities to talk about some great relevant experience. Hence, you can ask these questions.

• Would you like me to expand on anything further?

It is important to remember that the questions you ask will be your last chance to make a good impression, so one should think before taking any step that would be regrettable later. It is also advisable to answer in such a manner that the interviewers realise that they are in for the best candidate.
