Facebook looses 50% of monthly traffic, YouTube will become 2nd biggest website in US

According to a new study, it is understood that facebook is all set to relinquish its long held second position to You Tube among the top websites in US. It is seen that the monthly page visits, from 8.5 billion are reduced to 4.7 billion in the last two years. Facebook also reported that in the second span of this year, the number of its daily active users remained the same and did not increase in North America and went down in Europe.

You Tube on the other hand which is owned by Google parent alphabet, has seen increased traffic and the viewers list is also increased, said the study that found Google’s position as the biggest website in the US remaining unshaken. The researchers also say that Amazon would be overtaking Yahoo as the fourth most-visited website in the US in the next upcoming couple of months.

You Tube Will Become the 2nd Biggest Website In United States

According to the predictions it is said that You Tube would beat Facebook in the upcoming months and will become the second biggest website in United States.  Looking at the increasing traffic and popularity of You Tube which is increasing at an increasing pace, it is facebook’s massive loss traffic that has triggered this new order. Facebook’s monthly page visits have decreased from 8.5 billion to 4.7 billion per month, and this has caused them to lose the #2 spot to Youtube.

Facebook’s Demise: The Reasons

Data privacy issues, and threats of data security can be attributed as the main reasons for a steady and gradual decrease in Facebook’s traffic.

Will Amazon Beat Yahoo?

Another very interesting observation from the Comscore report: Yahoo, which is at #4 position will very soon lose their rank to Amazon, which is currently at #5 position in the list of most popular websites in the US. Yahoo too has been experiencing a steady decline in traffic, wherein Amazon is the rising star. But it is Google which has maintained their #1 position without any hiccups, all through these years. In July, Google witnessed 15 billion page visits, which is more than the combined traffic of the rest of the top 4: Facebook, Youtube, Yahoo and Amazon.
