Amazon India is planning to load its Prime subscription service with service with various offline benefits those encourage persistent use of the program, even as it looks to attract more customers from small cities and towns.
This follows Amazon integrating its Prime offerings with the supermarket chain Whole Foods in United States. The global Prime head of Amazon, Jamil Ghani said that the company is planning to add more Prime members from various small towns from India and that its assisted shopping initiative called Udaan and the recent launch of its Hindi interface are helping.
“(Offline) is definitely an area of interest for us. We are always looking for ways to add Prime benefits, especially with Amazon Pay solutions,” said Ghani. “(In the US), we are bringing the Prime experience to Whole Foods and the Whole Foods experience to Amazon across the website and Prime Now.”

The Prime members in United States also get supplementary discounts on hundreds of on-sale products at Whole Foods, that Amazon had acquired the previous year, along with fast delivery of products from the supermarket chain.
In India, Amazon is working to integrate with payment companies like ToneTag, in which it has invested about $5 million, for offering benefits to its Prime members at stores and restaurants.
