For Retailers holiday preparation is a Months Long job!

The Holiday season must be short but it needs preparations much before the selling season takes place.

A lot of people are aware of the Manasquan’s shore town New Jersey. This is considered a great destination for beachgoers and tourists. However in the month of November and December, the mid of the town is all decked up with holiday decor and twinkling lights. These are Attractive to shoppers who are willing to purchase holiday goods from local stores. The town also has a commerce chamber. It has instrumental in orchestrating events which is an attraction point and is the heart of downtown all around the year.

Planning Holiday:-

Preparations for the most important holiday season begins from June. Organisations have their teams who work with publishers and distributors to meet authors, purchase inventory, and plan events before the summer starts. For some of the events, the response is always overwhelming.

Recently #HolidayBizPrep Twitter chat was conducted by The UPS Store and Inc., in which small business experts stressed on the importance of that early planning. “Successful holiday marketing is all about advance planning! Plan ahead, and you will win,” tweeted Ramon Ray, the serial entrepreneur and founder of SmartHustle magazine. Other participants included Anita Campbell, founder of SmallBizTrends, and Steve Strauss, author and small business columnist. All the experts of the team emphasised on how to attract new shoppers and convert them into life-long customers.

In addition to a holiday plan, Campbell suggests keeping an eye on the numbers to ensure small businesses do not spend much. “I am a big proponent of setting a budget up front and not deviating from it too far,” she wrote during #HolidayBizPrep. Maggio typically has a fixed holiday marketing budget in mind but keeps some flexibility in it to capitalize on opportunities, especially around Small Business Saturday, which is a bigger event than Black Friday for Booktowne. Customers often tell her that they specifically visit downtown Manasquan that Saturday after Thanksgiving to make purchases from her shop and other local businesses in the area.
