These Books Changed the Lives of These Billionaires

Books can increase your knowledge and change your perspective. Books can help entrepreneurs figure out their business journey and often prove to a guide or mentor. And so entrepreneurs are known to be voracious readers. Reading will help one understand the revolutionary events and there are many businessmen who give novels and books written by significant authors credit of their success.

Here is the list of books that changed the lives of the world’s most recognized billionaires and entrepreneurs.

The Art of Happiness by Dalai Lama

The CEO of LinkedIn, Jeff Weiner mentioned in an interview about the books that have made a significant change in his life. Two of the books that had the biggest influence on his life was Nicolas Negroponte’s “Being Digital” and “The Art of Happiness” by Dalai Lama.

Weiner shared how he learned the difference between empathy and compassion from the book “The art of happiness” and by reading “Being Digital”, he realized that the key points mentioned in the book about business are fundamental for any business to grow.

“The Fountainhead” by Ayn Rand

For Mark Cuban the entrepreneur investor and Dallas Mavericks owner, reading is all about self-improvement. Cuban named one of the yachts after Rand’s Objectivist classic which is loved by many librarians and college students.

Apparently Cuban has read the book “The Fountainhead” three times completely. This book was able to encourage him and enhanced his risk-taking abilities as an entrepreneur to reach his goals.

“The Idea Factory” by Jon Gertner

Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder, and CEO of Facebook is a reading fanatic and every year challenges himself to read a certain number of books. Mark has a number of books he attributes his success to amongst them one such book is something he recommends everyone to read.

 

“The Idea Factory” by Jon Gertner, journalist and author’s book describes the history of Bell Labs. It was the popular research operation by Alexander Graham Bell which worked for several years as part of AT & T which is now owned by Nokia.

“Lord of the Flies” by William Golding

Elon Musk, Tesla’s founder has read many textbooks about rocket science and physics, however, there are two fictional books that play a significant role in his life. The classic book “Lord of the Flies” by Willian Golding and the book “Foundation” by Isaac Asimov.

The amazing and remarkable writing of Golding on survival and competition gave Musk a new perspective to deal with the challenges in life.
