Edutech Platform NeoStencil enters rural India, for raising fresh $7 mn funds

NeoStencil, an Edutech platform said that it has penetrated the most challenging geographies in India. The Naxal affected region like Dantewada and many other regions in the Naxal area for enabling the students from various regions for preparing for the mainstream exams with the help of technology.

Kush Beejal the Co-founder of NeoStencil even said that nearly 60 per cent of enrolment for these mainstream exams is from rural India.

The Gurgaon-based startup in the government job test preparation segment is in talks with investors to raise $5-7 mn by the end of this year.

Each year nearly 5 crore students apply in various government job examinations in India, very small number of those are from rural India.

The lower standards of education at grass-root schools and colleges imply that students in rural areas fall behind their urban counterparts every year.

Once they complete their HSSC or college education when they happen to come across the urban counterparts for common examinations like IIT, NEET, IAS, SSC, etc., the students from rural area understand the historical gap in their education and the dismal rates in the final selection list is a testimony to that, he said.
