Aadhaar And PAN Name Mismatch? Don’t Panic! Here’s How to Fix It


If you are trying to link your Aadhar card to the PAN card but are not successful due to some reason, then you need to check the Aadhar and PAN details. One common reason for this problem is the mismatch of details in both of them. If you want to link the PAN card with Aadhar, make sure that the basic information like date of birth, name, gender, and address in both of them must be same. If the information given in Aadhar and PAN card is not matching then you don,t need to worry about it.

Steps to fix Aadhaar card offline
Visit the nearest “Aadhar seva kendra”. Take the Updation/Amendment form there. Fill in the right information now. Also, supporting documents should be included. 25 to 30 rupees will be taken to update the details. However, this amount may differ according to the centers and the place.

Steps to fix PAN card details online
To change the name of the PAN card, go to this official website of NSDL -www.onlineservices.nsdl.com, Choose any of the Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data / Reprint of PAN Card on the homepage of the website, If you are Indian or not, select this option and submit the CAPTCHA code. Once submitted, you will get a token number using which you can make changes to the PAN card.

Correction through SSUP portal
Go to the SSUP portal. Then select the field that needs to be corrected. During this process, many details will be aked there. After submitting the form, the URN (unique request number) will be generated. Then, to review the amendment, BPO has to be selected. After doing all these, the copy of the scanned copy of the original document must be attached, after which one can check the status of updates in the portal through URN number.

The last date for linking Aadhaar card to the Permanent Account Number (PAN) is 31 August 2019. In such a situation, if you are unable to do this, then make sure to cross-check the details. If there is a mismatch, follow any one of the above steps.
