WhatsApp is perhaps the most useful IM app available right now on mobile devices. It lets us do with sending texts, images, videos, files, locations, make calls or video calls and so much more.
But one inconvenience, that we face almost every day (though we overlook) is in case when we ever change our numbers on WhatsApp or if someone from our contact does, until we share a group, we are left clueless until he or she resend their new number manually.
However, in a recent tentative announcement, WhatsApp has declared that it could be getting a new feature where our contacts will automatically be notified you’re the recent number change on WhatsApp.
The feature has already in beta versions for testing on Windows Mobile and is expected to go live pretty soon on Android and iOS too!
Further, to solidify the privacy, users can choose to notify all of their contacts or only those that they are chatting with.
But, it does not appear to be an option for users to pick and choose which contacts they want to share it with (yet), but maybe those options could be added at a later date.
There is no word on when this particular update will be pushed out, but one can expect it to go live in the next update in which live locations feature will also be rolled out.
